I just rewatched it and was reminded of its powerful messages.
- You cannot talk someone out of their pain.
- Acknowledgement is the best medicine.
- Acknowledgement makes things better when they can't be made right.
The video describes how trying to cheer a person up can make them feel like they have to defend their feelings. It states how giving unsolicited advice can make a person feel misunderstood.
Plus, the animation in it is just perfect.
Happy viewing. 💜

Thanks for sharing. This is really great advice.
ReplyDeleteI'm commenting before watching the video, but I love the three main points you've noted there. I've often said that people who try to cheer us up are simply denying us our experience and our pain. We know they can't fix it. But saying that is better than trying to pretend our pain doesn't exist or can be easily banished.
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm off to watch the video. Thanks for this!
Yes! Acknowledgement is everything. I've seen this video before, but it never stops being totally relevant and extremely helpful.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad this video resonated with many of you. It just put a lot of things into words and pictures for me. I love it when someone's blog post or video helps me figure out what I'm thinking and feeling.
